There’s likely a place for your experience on the church-planting team, helping missionaries serving in remote, unreached villages who rely on dedicated missionaries who support their work.

Associates serve for six months (although a minimum commitment of one year is preferred, and required for teachers) to four years. Looking for something longer? After four years, skilled associates may also have the opportunity to continue in their ministry.

Qualifications

for serving as a skilled-associate with Ethnos

All personnel must:

  • Agree with Ethnos Canada’s Statement of Faith
  • Have personal assurance of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be involved in a local church
  • Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ by maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Ethnos Canada
  • Desire to be part of a team effort to evangelize least reached people groups
  • Have high moral character with positive references and not have been convicted of a criminal offence for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Understand that most Ethnos Canada ministry opportunities are physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging and that appropriate health in these areas is required
  • Be willing to trust God for financial and material needs
  • Have no preexisting school, auto or credit card debts without a repayment plan (some exceptions apply)

Training

Ethnos Canada’s Specialized Training

Your role as a career missionary and previous Bible education determine the training you’ll need, which can take from one to four years. Learn more about Ethnos Canadas specialized training.

Available Positions

Cooks (School Dining Hall)

Location: Missionary Children's School

Purpose: Assist the church planting effort among unreached people in Brazil by cooking for missionary children at a remote school located along a major river.

Responsibilities: Prepares food for the school students.

    A team player, self motivated, and dependable. Must possess basic cooking skills.

FOOD SERVICES MANAGER, THE HOMES OF ETHNOS360

Location: Ethnos360 Retirement Homes, Sanford, FL

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to oversee a commercial kitchen in the Latham Center. The Latham Center cooks prepare three meals a day for retired Ethnos360 missionaries. The purpose of Ethnos360 is to assist the local church to plant mature churches among the least reached people groups in the world.

Responsibilities: Oversee the nutritional needs of the Assisted Living Facility residents and the independent residents of the Latham Center. Train and supervise the cooks in meal preparation and service. Schedule all full-time and part-time cooks/helpers in the kitchen, including weekends and holidays. Follow the state-approved menu, noting alterations and/or substitutions. Maintain kitchen and dining room food handling procedures in accordance with county and state guidelines. Inform the ALF Administrator or nursing staff on duty of changes or variations in normal eating habits of residents.

    • Have a valid Florida driver’s license. • Experience cooking for 20-30 people is helpful. • The following qualifications can be accomplished at The Homes: Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification; Red Cross HIV/AIDS training or equivalent; Infection Control and Personal Hygiene Certification; Sanitary Food Handling Certification; TB screening; Background screening; ServSafe Certification. • Candidates for this position must be willing to work provisionally in the kitchen as a cook while leadership skills and ability to work as a member of a team are assessed. • A growing relationship with Christ. • This position is open to career and associate members of Ethnos360.

Cook, The Homes of Ethnos360

Location: Ethnos360 Retirement Homes, Sanford, FL

Purpose: The purpose of this position in the Latham Center is to prepare three meals a day for retired Ethnos360 missionaries. The Homes exists to provide a nurturing and caring environment, attempting to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of its residents, with staff and facility capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Cook and serve meals during scheduled cooking hours/days. Follow the State approved menu, noting alterations and/or substitutions. Instruct new residents of dining room procedures. Assist in maintaining a weekly/daily shopping list, plus other responsibilities relevant to the position.
